Municipal Law

Young, Sommer currently serves as general counsel to several municipal and county governments in New York State. We frequently serve as special counsel to governmental entities including towns, cities, counties, school districts, water districts, sanitary and sewer districts, regional planning commissions, councils of governments, regional waste disposal groups, and other municipal and quasi-municipal agencies.  Within the West of Hudson New York City Watershed (Delaware and Greene Counties) our expertise has benefitted many communities through assistance with public works projects ranging from municipal wastewater treatment plants, to waterworks projects, to countywide co-composting facilities.

We work closely with elected officials, board members, committees and department heads. We assist newly elected officials and staff in developing the background and knowledge necessary to fulfill their responsibilities.
