Julie’s practice focuses on energy, environmental, and land use law.  She provides counsel to clients on regulatory and compliance issues, due diligence, transactional review, and permitting.  Julie also has experience representing clients in a diverse array of administrative and civil litigation proceedings, ranging from alternative dispute resolution to appellate practice.

Julie is admitted to practice in New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts, as well as the Second Circuit and D.C. Circuit.  Prior to joining Young/Sommer in 2025, Julie practiced with a regional firm and a global firm in the Capital Region.  She is well versed in representing a diverse client portfolio, varying from municipal clients to international private sector clients.

Julie graduated summa cum laude from the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University where she also obtained an Advanced Certificate in Environmental Law in 2020.  While at Pace, Julie served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Environmental Law Review and committed a substantial portion of her coursework to environmental and land use law.  Julie obtained her bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 2017.
