Young/Sommer LLC Lawyers Highly Ranked in Publications

Young/Sommer LLC is pleased to announce that it was again recognized by Chambers USA as a leading New York law firm in the environmental law practice area. The firm, even with its small size and modest fee structure, is listed as one of the top nine leading Environmental firms in New York. It is the fifteenth consecutive year that the Young/Sommer boutique practice has placed among the top ten New York State Environmental firms in the legal guide. The Chambers USA listing states that Young/Sommer is an “Albany-based boutique known for its full environmental service capabilities and representation of upstate clients” and that Young/Sommer “boasts a diverse skill set encompassing waste water, air quality and cleanup knowledge, among other areas.”

Partners Dean Sommer and Kevin Young were, once again, individually recognized in the Chambers USA listing. The publication notes that Dean Sommer “is particularly well known for his work on hazardous substances and toxic tort disputes” and that “a source defines him as ‘a great litigator’.” Chambers notes that Kevin Young “is recommended for his expertise in environmental regulation concerned with air quality, solid waste treatment and wetland protection” and “has longstanding experience in Superfund and brownfield litigation.” He is further recognized by one of the commentators as “an outstanding stormwater expert.”

The Chambers USA rankings are based on in-depth confidential interviews with clients and lawyers, asking participants to rate firms on legal ability and client service. Chambers USA is published by Chambers & Partners Ltd, an international firm that produces directories of top lawyers in 175 countries, providing independent rankings and editorial commentary. Information on Chambers and Partners can be found at http://www.chambersandpartners.com.

Several Young/Sommer LLC attorneys were also selected to the 2018 Upstate New York Super Lawyers and 2018 Upstate New York Rising Stars lists, including Super Lawyers Kevin M. Young and Dean S. Sommer (for environmental law), Robert A. Panasci (for real estate law), Kenneth S. Ritzenberg (for schools and education law) and Stephen C.
