Jim Muscato Speaks at Association of Towns Training Session on Renewable Energy Project Permitting

The Association of Towns held their annual meeting and training February 21-22, 2022. Jim Muscato spoke at a session entitled “Update on Solar & Wind Project Development, Permitting and Standardized Taxation” for CLE and Supervisor Training Credit. The session was attended by municipal representatives across New York State. The panel was hosted by Kyle Rabin of the Alliance for Clean Energy. Jim’s portion of the training focused on the state’s new “Section 94-c” large-scale renewable energy permitting process for projects 20 MW and larger, which has replaced the “Article 10” process that towns may be more familiar with. Jim provided an introduction to the newly created Office of Renewable Energy Siting which oversees this new permitting process.
