Young/Sommer LLC Continues Ranking as Top-Tier Law Firm in Chambers USA Guide

Young/Sommer LLC is excited to announce that it has again been named to the 2023 Best Lawyers and Law Firms Chambers USA Guide as one of the top-tier law firms within New York State in environmental and energy law. Young/Sommer is also noted as one of the top-tier law firms within Upstate New York. This marks the twentieth consecutive year the law firm has been honored by Chambers USA.
Young/Sommer LLC, comprised of 24 attorneys with extensive experience in environmental law, renewable energy, land use, real estate, litigation, and commercial transactions, is noted by Chambers as being “known for its full environmental capabilities.” Young/Sommer LLC is also noted as having a “particular strength in wind energy and other renewables” and as having “really good environmental litigators.”
In addition to recognizing the Firm’s excellence in the areas noted above, three individual partners were specifically recognized by Chambers for their high qualification in their fields. Renewable Energy Practice Area Leader and Partner Jim Muscato was individually recognized for his work in renewable energy and ranked as a top environmental lawyer in New York: Upstate. Additionally, founding partners Kevin Young and Dean Sommer were again each individually recognized as top environmental lawyers in New York State. Kevin was noted as having experience “for his environmental compliance advice” and knowledge “of all major statutes regulating air, water and waste.” Kevin was further noted for being able to cover “the full spectrum of federal and state environmental statutes, with a focus on litigation and agency proceedings.” Dean was noted for being “an esteemed practitioner sought after for his advice on hazardous waste and brownfield development matters” and as being “top-notch”.
